5 Best Cocktail Bars in Las Vegas

1. Vesper Bar
Cosmopolitan, 3708 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109
(702) 698-7000

IMG_1742 Vesper is probably my favorite bar in Las Vegas. The swanky bar inside Cosmopolitan Hotel draws cocktail enthusiasts all over with expertly concocted cocktails that change seasonally.

The menu offers two sides of a coin: classic cocktails on one and their own interpretations of those same cocktails on the other, where unusual ingredients like chai and kaffir lime make their way. Even though their menus rotate, many customers still request their favorites from the previous menus.

2. Downtown Cocktail Room
111 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89101
(702) 880-3696
Oh Snap
This small lounge in downtown Las Vegas is another destination for creative craft cocktails. The menu sports original cocktails as well as classics and an impressive selection of absinthe, some of which you may not have heard of. They can also prepare you absinthe in three different ways. The menu changes constantly but may include cocktails garnished with a piece of cheese, tea infused spirits, or other mystery ingredients.
They also have a happy hour on weeknights from 4-8pm.

3. Scarlet
4321 W Flamingo Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89103
(702) 933-9900
Scarlet
A small gem inside the Palms, this bar only has six seats, so come early. The cocktail menu is small and constant but solid, backed by a seasonal selection of infused spirits. Gin and Tonic here is garnished with star anise and cardamom. Try the Rock n Rye with rock candy infused Bulleit rye, roasted pecans, and oranges - or spice up the night with a Fireball shot served with pop rocks. It's Vegas, I won't tell that you downed some Fireball.

4. Frankie's Tiki Room
1712 W Charleston Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89102
(702) 385-3110

Probably the best 24-hour tiki bar in the country (is there any other one?)
Frankie's is always fun and kitschy, serving a variety of delicious and strong tiki drinks any hour of the day.

5. Herbs and Rye
3713 W Sahara Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89102
(702) 982-8036

With a classic dining room and a beautifully printed menu that is organized by cocktail "ages", such as Prohibiton or Gothic Age, Herbs and Rye is becoming a popular cocktail destination. A sign above the bar declares that "the bartender is always right", which is perhaps necessary for Las Vegas. There are still some misses from what we tried but I had some great stirred cocktails here, including a Widow's Kiss.
