Gateways Inn and Restaurant in Lenox, MA. Relaxing in The Berkshires.
As part of my reviews of Select Registry, an association of bed and breakfasts, inns, and small hotels in the US, I stayed at Gateways Inn in Lenox, Massachusetts. Back in the Berkshires!
I stayed in the Rosalind room, adorably decorated in light blue.
The "office" nook |
There is also a large screen TV, a fireplace, and a Keurig coffee machine in the room.
Cozy bathrobes, plus the blue one matches with the teddy bear.
After freshening up, we headed down to the restaurant for dinner. Gateways Inn also has a upscale restaurant that some locals and tourists alike visit.
We started with some French Onion Soup
Gougeres with apple slices. I wish these gougeres were cheesier, though.
Duck breast, sweet potato croquet, roasted squash
I liked this entree with nicely cooked duck breast and the sweet potato croquettes were a fun side.
Maple creme brulee for dessert, although I wish it had a stronger maple flavor.
Overall we had a nice dinner at Gateways Restaurant's quiet dining room. They also use local ingredients when possible and highlight local wineries and breweries.
The bar here boasts having the largest whiskey selection in The Berkshires.
They also have live music in the lounge, which is a nice option to occupy your time at night in the Berkshires.
Some R&R after dinner. Jacuzzi and bath salt!
The breakfast spread that we were presented with the next morning was quite impressive.
Especially if you love cheese. It was also my first time trying Gjetost (right bottom corner), a unique cheese from Norway. Gjetost is a caramelized goat's milk and whey cheese. Caramelized cheese. You have to try it!
Homemade preserves and almond butter for the bread and toasts!
We also got an omelette, and that day's was made with asparagus and brie.
I was quite rejuvenated after my stay at Gateways Inn, especially after soaking in the jacuzzi. Gateways Inn and Restaurant offers comfortable and romantic rooms, a nice restaurant and bar, live music, and a great breakfast in the morning.
Disclosure: My stay at Gateways Inn was hosted through Select Registry.
