Last year, they had the first Miracle Bar pop-up in the Boston area, and I gathered fellow cocktail lovers to try out the holiday drinks at the Kimpton Marlowe in Cambridge. The holiday themed bar is coming back on November 23rd to even more locations around the country this year, so I thought I'd do a recap of my experience last year.
Here are some of the drinks we had last year and an idea of what's to come this year:
Yippie Ki Yay Mother F**r (Barbados rum, cachaca, Trinidad overproof rum, purple yam coconut orgeat, pineapple)
This one's for the tiki lovers, and you have to get it just for the Santa mug, of course.
For those who prefer stirred drinks, there was the Snowball Old Fashioned (gingerbread bourbon, wormwood bitters, lemon zest)
This was a great old fashioned with more holiday spices, loved it.
Jingle Ball Nog (cognac, Amontillado sherry, peanut butter, almond milk, pandan, cream, nougat syrup, egg, nutmeg)
It's not the holidays without egg nog! It's on the sweeter and rich side (I mean, it's an egg nog) but well balanced.
Fa La La La La, La La La La (I think I got the right number of "La"s on there ...) (gin, aquavit, hazelnut, liqueur, cardamom, vanilla, lemon, egg white, club soda)
For those who want a lighter and more refreshing drink.
These were just a sampling of the cocktail menu that Miracle Bar had last year and I can't wait to check it out again this holiday season!
The Miracle Bar has even more locations now all around the country. They're even having a pop-up in Malden and Worcester this year. See if they'll be near you! Full location list can be found here.
