So, the killer shrimp. The original signature dish is a bowl of shrimp in spicy cajun-style broth and served with a French bread. Now, you can choose shrimp, crab, lobster, or all of the above. I tried the one with shrimp, crab, and lobster for $38.
The shrimp and dipping the bread into the spicy tomato-based broth is definitely the best part, though!
They now have a full menu beyond the killer shrimp dishes now. We tried the scallop "sashimi" appetizer (it was seared, so not technically a sashimi)
We also tried the Killer Paella (saffron rice, andouille sausage, chicken, clams, mussels, calamari, shrimp - $26)
The other dishes we tried were pretty good, I still would definitely get the killer shrimp dish if I go here! After all, it's the dish that made the restaurant and so many people have tried discovering or replicating the recipe, for good reason.
Killer Shrimp also has a full bar and some easy-drinking cocktails like Mai Tai and margaritas. There's not a lot of places to grab drinks in MDR, so it's good to have this as an option.
