Among the many great things to try there is the pulpo (octopus) taco. The Spanish octopus is braised then fried and served on a handmade corn tortilla and squid ink sofrito ($12)

The texture of the octopus is perfect and the flavors are spot on. Definitely order this.
Kumiai oysters from Guerrero Negro Lago in Baja California.

Blood clams from the Sea of Cortez, Baja California ($16 per half dozen)

Scallops aguachile. Baja California half moon scallops in a lime-cilantro-serrano marinade ($14). The creaminess of the avocado and the sweetness of the scallops temper the heat. This is another must order.

Fish and uni ceviche tostada made with kanpachi, Santa Barbara sea urchin, tomato, onion, avocado, lime, salsa roja ($15)

Giant east coast surf clam "coctel" ($14 per lb)

It took me a while after hearing about Holbox before making my way there. Once I did, I wished I had gone sooner. Holbox is one of the best Mexican restaurants in LA, and it is also one of the best seafood restaurants in LA. If you have not gone, don't wait any longer to go!
