This summer, Rush Street in Culver City brings in a bit of New England with a special clambake menu, including a chowder, prime rib, a special summer-y cocktail, and of course the clambake itself.
I joined a recent media tasting, and started off our feast with a Roasted Corn and Crab Chowder in bread bowl ($7)
I had not realized that Rush Street has an outdoor deck in the back of the second floor. It's perfect for a summer clambake.
Then came the Clambake itself, with shrimp, clams, mussels, sausage, corn, baby red potatoes ($23)
We were full, but Deep End Dining started raving about the prime rib he ordered and got us all drooling, so our table ordered another to share.
Prime Rib Dinner: 12 oz prime rib, baked potato, charred broccoli and cauliflower with cheddar cheese fondue ($24)
The rest of the menu is still available, of course. My friend really liked the Crab-stuffed Blackened Salmon with Corn Ravioli in brown butter sauce ($19)
People seemed to enjoy their cocktails, but if you're having one of those days where you need to lay off drinking like I did, I highly recommend the Fever Tree ginger beer ($5)
We ended by trying most of the desserts. Many of them I found were just ok, but the two that we all liked was the moist carrot cake and the sticky toffee pudding.
You can get the clambake, crab chowder, and prime rib at Rush Street all summer long (until Labor Day). Be sure you get the chowder!
