Cocktails and Argentinean Fare at Barcito (Downtown LA)
A while back I visited Barcito in downtown LA for the first time. It's an Argentinean restaurant serving tapas as well as salads and sandwiches. While you can't dine in there right now, they are still open for takeout and delivery.
A recap of my visit there: We had to start with some jamon and burrata, of course. They're served with some Bub and Grandma's bread.
Spanish tortilla (egg, potato, onion, but they made it their own with the addition of arugula and cashew romesco)
Beyond the traditional tapas, they also have items such as the fried chicken sandwich (buttermilk fried chicken, pickled cabbage slaw, spicy honey, brioche bun)
This was a good chicken sandwich with a nicely breaded piece and a bit of spice.
Breakfast salad (brussels sprouts, chorizo, cotija, sunny side up egg, avocado)
An unusual take on salad, but I like it with the creaminess of the egg yolk and avocado!
Brazilian chicken wings (lime-marinated chicken, garlic, parsley, chimichurri aioli)
Really enjoyed the marinade on these chicken wings.
Barcito also has a nice cocktail program from classic cocktails like this Last Word:
as well as their own concoctions like the Federal Fizz (Los Javis mezcal, orange, egg white, pez powder)
Most of these items are still available for takeout and delivery (not the tortilla, unfortunately). Barcito still has food for takeout and also wine / beer, batched cocktails, and pantry items including yeast and flour for all you bakers! You can check out what they have and order here.
