Ladies' Night Deal at Abby Park (Milton, MA)
Mondays are Ladies' First at Abby Park in Milton, where they are offering a 3-course meal for $30 and includes your choice of beer or wine! I thought it was a pretty good deal, with a generous portion of the entree and a good selection of wines and beers on tap. There are 3-5 choices per course, including a vegetarian option.
The appetizer choices include clam chowder, but we decided to be somewhat healthy and opted for the two salads.
Caprese salad (vine ripe tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil, crostini, balsamic glaze)
Caesar salad (Romaine salad, garlic croutons, shaved parmesan, creamy Caesar dressing)
The $30 menu comes with your choice of beer and wine (you can also get sangria or cocktails for $5 extra) and they have a pretty good selection of wines and draft beers. My cousin got a Guinness (because she always does) and I opted for a white wine to go with my salmon: 2013 Taboexa Albarino from Spain
For the entree I had a hard time deciding between the flat iron steak or the salmon, but ended up opting for the Skinny Salmon (pistachio crusted salmon, organic brown rice, asparagus, goji berry vinaigrette)
The chef at Abby Park is known to create healthy dishes using ingredients like brown rice and goji berry. The salmon here was cooked quite nicely (I asked for medium rare).
Linguini Bolognese (ground beef, pork, and veal, roasted tomato sauce, touch of cream, shaved parmesan cheese)
This bolognese was surprisingly good, I really like the cream they added to the sauce which distinguishes this pasta from other bolognese I've had.
Dessert options consisted of sorbet, a key lime pie or chocolate lava cake.
Chocolate lava cake with raspberry sauce
The dessert portions are smaller but you'll already be full by this point from the full-sized entree so it's okay. Compared to the chocolate lava cake, I actually preferred the Key lime pie - it's still creamy but not as rich as the chocolate cake.
Milton was not that far of a drive from Boston, and street parking near Abby Park was easy to find. It's also a good resting point if you're driving to and from Cape Cod. Other than the $30 meal for Ladies First on Mondays they also have various other specials, like Kids Eat Free, that are worth checking out.
