Drinks and Beyond at Drink (Boston, MA)

Drink Drink in Fort Point is arguably Boston's most famous cocktail establishment. There's no cocktail menu at Drink, just a crew of highly talented and highly trained bartenders under the direction of Ezra Star. They're ready to make you any drink you want, or suggest a cocktail based on your taste preferences. Everyone seems to always be working on something new and interesting.

The line and wait at this place can get pretty crazy, but if you come early (they open at 4pm), there's no line and you can get the full attention of the bartenders.

Because of the status that Drink has in the city, they also can get their hands on some exclusive you can hardly find elsewhere. We tried some special Del Maguey mezcal, a San Pedro Taviche, a blend of Espadin, Tobala, and Tepextate.

We also had a daiquiri made with pineapple infused Plantation rum. Don't let your mind go to Malibu or something like that, Plantation is levels above that. This was a really lovely rum with nice tropical aromas, and it was not yet available in stores.

Taste of Iceland Kicks Off at Boston's Tavern Road

Iceland has really, really good food. Don't believe me? Head over to Tavern Road this weekend for Iceland Naturally's Taste of Iceland. Starting tonight (March 13) to March 16, you can try a four-course menu featuring Icelandic ingredients created by Chef Viktor Orn Andresson from Blue Lagoon's LAVA Restaurant and Chef Louis DiBiccari from Tavern Road.

At these dinners, you'll be treated to ingredients flown especially from Iceland, including one of the best (perhaps the best) arctic char you've ever tried - lemon-cured and served with roe, cauliflower, horseradish, and dill.

Taste of Iceland
You'll also try some Icelandic cod and langoustine. I fell in love with their langoustines when I was in Iceland, and tried to eat it every single day!

Even their lamb is more tender than usual. Obviously, it's free range lamb (Iceland only has 320,000 people, there's plenty of space for sheep). You'll get a roasted rack of lamb flavored with Icelandic herbs. Shown below is just the portion for the media preview, not the full size dinner portion.

James Hook Lobster (Boston, MA)

There are plenty of lobster to be had in Boston, but where to have one affordably? Well, the cheapest would be the Chinese restaurants, but if you want them traditional style, then James Hook is one of the best values in town.

I took my aunt and cousins there and ordered whole steamed lobsters (tip: there is a small parking lot where you can park for free!)

A whole steamed 1.5 lb lobster went for $20 here when I came (on July 4). Actually, you pay $22 when you order but they will refund you $2 in cash when you return the crackers (funny story: my aunt misunderstood and tried to return the oyster crackers that came with our chowder!).
